Recent Incident

Dear Impact Community:

As we informed you last month, NYC Impact received reports of harassing behavior by a coach. Please be assured that NYC Impact has taken these accusations seriously and has followed the protocol of reporting the allegations to SafeSports, USAV, and law enforcement. The coach in question is no longer engaged by Impact, and we will fully cooperate with any investigations into this matter.

We also made the athletes and their families aware of resources available to them and have had meetings with athletes and/or their parents who have requested to meet with us.

At this stage, since complaints were filed by the athletes and their families with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), they have been directed by the FBI not to discuss the matter with anyone else due to the fact that this is an ongoing investigation and to respect of the minors involved.  The FBI agent assigned to the case has asked that we let the NYC Impact community know that parents and/or athletes who wish to meet with him, reach out to him directly.  I will share his contact information as soon as I receive it from him, and it will be posted here once it is available. Any other updates moving forward will be reflected on that page.

At this time, since the athletes have been directed by the FBI not to speak to anyone about the case, NYC Impact will suspend meetings with those athletes and their families who are part of the FBI investigation.  NY Impact remains available to meet with any other athlete or parent who has concerns or questions. Please email us directly at impactsvb@gmail.

If you have more information or have been a victim, please use the form that the FBI has provided, https://forms.fbi.gov/victims/CoachEdgarCastilloVictims, or email volleyballcoachec@fbi.gov

All submissions are confidential and go directly to the FBI. They will follow up with those submissions and will contact you directly based on the information provided.

Once again, should any athlete or their family wish to receive mental health services, the contact information is listed below. If you need additional referral help, please feel free to ask.
